Lisa Edelstein (born Lisa Edelstein) is an American actor best recognized for her role as House in Fox's Medical drama House. Her family was from Wayne, in a conservative Jewish tradition. At the age of 18, she emigrated to New York City to study at the Tisch School for the Arts. She became very involved with the clubs in New York City, and was able to get noticed by the media. While doing so, she was becoming more conscious of AIDS and its devastating impacts. Then, she combined her talent and fame with her writing skills and composition abilities in the production of a play titled Positive Me. In the following months, she got a job at MTV as host of Awake to the Wild Side. Once the program was over the actress went on to work in movies as well as TV productions. Her first job was in smaller roles, and then became established in the process of becoming an actress.
